8 days new.

recently an old classmate contacted me about photos of his newborn baby girl.  i was so excited but baby/children photos are few and far in between for me.  lately my concentration has fallen on weddings/events and portraits and little bit of music.  so i was a little nervous, especially for such an itty biddy baby!! eekk! but it was a gorgeous october afternoon and the session was magnificent! meet layla!

this may be the sweetest october baby ever.

new life.  it gives me chills.  i should book these types of sessions more often!

the golden anniversary.

we were recently asked to cover a 50th wedding anniversary party for my sweet cousins grandparents.  i've known marvin & liz music my entire life and always thought they had the most wonderful and loving relationship, so i was nothing but honored to attend and capture all the details!

these were my most favorite detail shots of the event but we took loads more!

it was truly amazing to observe and capture such a lovely event.  50 years!! wow can you imagine?
i hope someday to be only so lucky :)

and the year grows cold.

happy october everyone!

september flew by as did all the summer months for me.  my first year back in the saddle of my photography business has been fabulous and seems like a whirlwind as it comes to a close.  we only have one event left for the year and its our biggest of all :) we are so very excited for whats to come!!

mark and i took a little personal time off this past weekend from school work and photo editing and wanted to get out for some fresh air.  our day off together turned out rainy and cold and absolutely no sunshine but we got tough and headed to our local farmers market to pick out our first ever pumpkins together.

this will be our 3rd halloween together and we have never carved pumpkins together! can you believe that?  its something we both really loved to do when we were children and i couldn't believe we hadn't started this tradition yet.  the night before we bought a small carving kit and some patterns and just needed the perfect pumpkins!!

our sweet little pumpkins will remain nestled on our front porch until we get the chance to carve them.  i'll keep you updated! in the meantime... go out and start a new season tradition too!

smitten.

labor day weekend we had the pleasure of photographing a wedding filled to the brim with love.  i have never quite seen a bride so in love with her groom as this one is :)  she didn't appear to have a bit of anxiety or stress all day, she just wanted to marry the man of her dreams!  it makes my heart melt.  jenny & paul are a lovely couple that invited us in for one of their biggest days together and we are grateful.

i squeezed in a small bridal session while everyone was clearing from church and heading to the reception.  who can resist gorgeous stained glass windows :)

the day was jam packed and a little behind not to mention 100 degrees out!  i'm so lucky they were good sports for going outside to take these bride & groom portraits.

the reception was a blast and the dance floor was full the entire night!
